Annual price tag for nonfatal injuries in the US tops $1.8 trillion

(Brown University) Almost one in 10 people in the US visited the hospital for nonfatal injuries in 2013 for a total cost of $1.8 trillion. Falls and being hit by objects were the most prevalent causes of injury.
